Colleen received her Bachelor’s degree from University of North Florida and her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. Colleen’s areas of practice include Workers’ Compensation defense, Commercial Litigation, Civi Rights Litigation, and Criminal Defense. During law school, Colleen served as a member of the Moot Court Honor Board and as a Team Manager, led Florida Coastal School of Law to win the state championship for “Best Appellate Team” at the Zhemer competition during the 2007 Annual Florida Workers’ Compensation Convention. Her team not only won the state championship, but also won the state titles for “Best Appellate Oral Advocate,” “Best Brief” and “Best Runner Up Brief.” Additionally, Colleen received the award for “Best Appellate Oral Advocate,” in the internal competition for her class at Florida Coastal School of Law in 2006. Colleen won two book awards during law school in the subjects of Making and Meeting Objections which focuses on the application of Evidence procedures during trial, and in Workers’ Compensation. Colleen graduated from law school with certification in advanced legal research and writing and with the distinguished honor of being a member of the Dean’s List for academic achievement. Before attending law school, Colleen had already gained 14 years of experience in the Workers’ Compensation industry. Specifically, Colleen worked as a litigation paralegal with a focus on Workers’ Compensation. She also held her All Lines Adjuster’s License and worked as a Workers’ Compensation adjuster. Colleen first joined the firm as a paralegal in 2000. She later obtained her All Lines License and worked as a Workers’ Compensation adjuster for several years before returning to the firm to work as a paralegal during college and throughout law school. Colleen is certified by The Florida Department of Insurance as an instructor in Florida Workers' Compensation.
