Christy attended Texas A&M University, where she graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She graduated in the top third of her class from Florida State University College of Law in May 2008. During law school, Christy served as vice president of the award-winning FSU Moot Court Team and was on the Alumni Relations Committee for the legal honors fraternity Phi Delta Phi. Christy competed in the Wagner National Labor & Employment Law Moot Court Competition and was a quarterfinalist in 2007.

Her peers elected her to the Order of Barristers in April 2008 for excellence in appellate advocacy. She made Dean’s List in the spring of 2006, and served as a teaching assistant for Legal Writing & Research in the fall of 2007. In the spring of 2008, Christy clerked for the Honorable James Wolf of the First District Court of Appeal. She also held law clerk positions at various state agencies and private law firms during law school. Christy was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2008.
